Interested in the mr30 stumpy gearbox. DId nz get the MR30??
I did a search for mr30 skyline but didnt get any clarifacating images of the mr30. I know a little about the r30 and what it looks like but not about the m in the code.
Do they look any different?
Did the mr30 come out with the l series like some of the others. Also anyone know the years of r30's that came out with the stumpy box? very interested to learn more.

MR30 basically looks the same as HR30, with different taillights and the 3 slot grill. MR is the aussie market model which only came in 4dr sedan and 5 door variants, all with L24E engine only. The same stumpy 5spd was also used in the HR30 behind the L20ET, and I know there are at least some of them in NZ. I think MR30 ran from 1980-84, when the series 1 R31 took over in Aus.

i thought we got a 2dr version as well?

2door coupes only came in HR30 and DR30 designations which had 4cyl FJ and 6cyl L engines respectively, in both turbo and naturally aspirated forms. They were never sold in Australia, the only ones here are private imports. There was no MR30 2 door coupe.
