I've heard that the USS Kittyhawk will be in Brisbane this weekend. I'd love to get aboard. If anyone knows how, please let me know.
Cheers.

No chance, I'm in the Defence Force and I couldn't get on. You'd have to gain special clearance from the US Navy or the commanding officer, which isn't easy (they're over cautious). Maybe get a job at a TV station and be part of the crew filming a Today segment on board, that or marry a sailor!

Don't wanna smash your dreams, but you wouldn't even be allowed in the base, even if you had a mate in the Navy.

Anyone have a copy of yesterdays courier mail? Aparently there was information about how to get on board for a tour, cost was $25 per adult.
I live in hope.
Oh by the way bumble bee was way cooler than smarty pants megatron.

Frenzy, or do you mean the one they fried in the box?

You couldn't get on the thing in Sydney, so I doubt they would have opened up in Brissy. Would be a major change of heart by the yanks.

It is possible though, we have air force open days. At the Richmond one though the US C17 was blocked off from the public, only Australian planes could be viewed in the flesh.

In another weird DatsunLand coincidence, the USS Kitty Hawk is based in Yokosuka, Japan where they have the annual car show (we have some pictures here somewhere).

It's currently anchored at luggage point.
About 2 kms up the road from where I work.
Went & had a squizz yesterday.... Impressive bit of gear.

To get there, just get on Kingsford Smith Drive & keep driving towards Moreton Bay 'till the road starts to turn crappy + follow the signs to luggage point.

Feel a bit sorry for the sailors though.... Luggage point is where they pump the $hit out!!
