I think it sounds heavy and expensive.

why r u putting a 351 and C6 in there too? dont create retarded half ford half datsun creatures, keep it incestuous in the family and use a nissan patrol diff which can never be broken and would cost less to buy before shortening.

Also a ford maverick IS a nissan patrol with the only ford part being the badge before anyone raises it.

Hey, I'm putting a VN SS in my ute.
Diff - $400.00
Shorten - $650.00

This will obviously be 5stud with disk brake's, but if you want a 4 stud get the R31 rear end and the cost should be similar. Also note, the above prices is for re-splined standard shafts, not billet customs.
9inch is serious overkill, and serious extra weight, unless of course you have big drag racing plans!
Does the prices they quoted cover a different/locker centre? Custom shafts? Also was that a "drive in - Drive out" price?

Good Luck

yeah i say thats way to much, seems as you can buy cut down r31 LSD diffs with disc brake rear for about $1500
i'd say r31 would probably be the cheapest option if you are looking for a diff with easy to get LSDs

also mavericks dont have something to do with the front suspention that the patrols do.....forget what though

EDIT, $2500 would most definatly have to be a drive in drive out price.....unless its getting gold plated axles or something

I got quoted $2400 for either a HiLux or a commodore borg warner cut down, fitted and brakes with whatever stud pattern I wanted.

Look at some of the VL's in VIC that are running a borg warner. They put down massive power and their diffs cope.

whats with these $2500 quotes....ill sell my spare cut down BW diff housing for $200
then you buy an r31 diff, get one axle cut down...cost me $110
whack the brakes gears and centre in and you have a nice diff

GQ patrol rear diff is a H260 = 10.25" with 1.5" 37 spline axles. No 1200 needs a diff like that!
