Sadly my efforts to revive the 4-door 1000 have failed!(or should I say temporarily halted) I bought the car for $300.
-missing seats
-rear seat ruined
-very poor electrics
-motor was running very hot
-no brakes
-suspension shot
-tyres
-rust
I managed to get all the lights/electrics working, sorted out the engine, got the interior cleaned up and carpeted. Made all the door linnings and parcel shelf.
I bought many parts for it and so far I've spent maybe $1500 on tools and parts. It has been awfully disappointing to watch it sit there and do nothing but I simply cannot afford to keep throwing money at it.
My advice to anyone at uni with a small family and little income- start with something that is in good condition!! I may consider selling it but I don't like to bail out on things, I'll keep it under cover until I return home at the end of the year to a decent workshop.

On the bright side I have saved enough money over the uni break to purchase another 1000!! this time it's a good one.
