Hi all

I have been given a 5 speed & dont know what model its from, all i know is it was from a Datsun. The only letters/numbers i can find is L2. the shift pattern is the same as my standard 1200 4 speed but with the 5th gear above where reverse is. The casing has visible ribs on the outside.

Any help would be great.
If i get time i'll post some pics.

Hi mate,

The best thing to do would be to post a picture front on from the bellhousing end. It sounds like a 63a, but they can be either L or A series engines. If you put one up someone with a better idea than me will be able to tell you based on the starter motor position, holes, etc.

Cheers

5th above reverse suggests it is a 56 or 60 series.

1. Clean the top of the bell flange. There should be some stamped numbers there.

2. On the right side of the main case it should have a size number 6.0. Or on the extension housing 63.

Ok.
Top of the bellhousing has 7X21790
RH side has L2 & near the gearshift it has 92920.

LH side has #6 near the gearshift

its also about 100mm longer than my std 4 speed.

I will post pics as soon as my camera is recharged!

possibally a 240k 5 speed, or 200b or bluebird

but i'd say 240k due to the older style shifter
