Does anyone know the number of splines on the drive pinion of the R31 Skyline Borg-Warner diff?

Been covered on all ford/holden and nisssan forums.

25 spline on the R31 Pintara.
28 spline on the R31 Skyline
28 spline on the VL Turbo
28 spline on the VL/VN/VP V8
25 spline on the budget model Commodores.

Yeah I know the axle spline counts dattodude, I'm talking about the input drive pinion that the companion flange is splined to.

I don't pull them apart But our member 'Pigdog' is quite the BW expert. He will know.

Gday mate. I just stripped my 28 (axle) spline borgwarner and there is 28 splines on my pinion.

Hope this is the info you need.

i was going to take a guess at 28 spline, dont know why i counted it though

why do you need to know, all the BW pinion flanges should be the same amount of splines....unless thats something else ford changed

edit, just counted a falcon one (couldnt find the commodore one i had) and it measured up at 27 splines, twice
this may just be another attempt by ford to design unusable BW diff parts, but do you think you could do a recount bundy?

Holy SH*T, lucky you asked me to count again pigdog. I counted them another 4 times and I got 27 each time I counted. FU*K knows how I got 28 on the first count

THERE IS 27 SPLINES ON MY PINION not 28 as I stated in a previous post - SORRY for miss leading you dude.

i only counted a second time coz i expected to get 28
