its a celica style box
13/16 slave
5/8 master cylinder (short throw like exactly like maddat sells)

i installed
button clutch
hd pressure plate

i had to mount master pretty low on pedal and fire wall as it will hit intake manifold or booster if i go higher.
and its to the left with a solid bolt conected from master rod to pedal.approx 30mm-70mm to left of pedal and mounted approx half way down pedal

THE PROBLEM

its just way way to hard
its so hard if u dont push in correct spot it wants to bend pedal and rod towards break pedal side.

has any 1 had this problem
any advice
suggestions

the way i see it
change slave/master ratio
or
mount higher some how

but any1 with advice it would be appretiated

thanks

Mount it under the dash above the steering column brace with a remote filler in the engine bay.

I have used a clutch master from a 80's bmw 5seires if i remember right. They are shaped like a pencil and not much fatter about 12-15mm in diameter but a bit longer than most masters.

It is a pretty big job, take the dash facia out and you can see the room you have, it will run just left of the speedo cable. Im putting the brake master there also so room is pretty minimal. You dont need to take the brace out.

Have a search once the pictures come back, plenty of people have put them there.

Im not sure exactly what the problem is with your setup, without seeing pics etc . You need to either bolt a braket for the master to bolt to or weld a braket on.

Im sure its metric so lines should fit but I havent made up new lines yet so Im not 100% sure, you can buy adapters anyway.

as there aint much that can be wrong.

i was thinking
vans and light trucks should have that setup to as the engine bay is under the seats

is this true

Yeah the brake master I'm using is from a urvan the clutch master was a tad too big to use alongside though thats why i used the bmw job.

Maybe drop it past a brake and clutch place and ask for some professional advice. With a H/d pressure plate you'll bend that pedal in no time and your pedal could be offsetting the pressure on the shaft inside the master causing it to bind.

Got a pic of what you have made?

13/16 slave
5/8 master cylinder

i'm noticing that with that setup it's actually harder to press the clutch in than it should be. normally the master cyl is equal or larger in size, otherwise the mechanical advantage is reduced below an efficiency of 1:1

What you have is a clutch pedal that requires 1/3 more pressure than it delivers
so you push 1.3 lbs on the pedal and the slave only produces 1 lb of force.

I used a bluebird series 1/2 setup including the whole pedal assembly, master and slave (for a nissan box). It works beautifully and parts are everywhere. I deleted the old cable pedal. You know with this system it all works in together and I have had no problems. I also used a thin plate on the other side of the firewall to the pedal to add stiffness. It was cheap easy and was in and working within a few hours. just install the new pedal assembly anywhere you want in a position where you feel comfortable changing.

edit... just a thought you know with this setup too you have the right leverage geometry to push the pedal and the master. This is where I think you have it skewed on your setup making the pedal really hard.
