are you doing it yourself?? just make sure, that the work that goes into making the body good enough for painting is more important that the painting itself, how you rub it down is how it will look unless your a pretty good painter

What type of compresser would be needed to respray the car?

one thats going to supply enough cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air so you dont have to keep stopping and starting because the compressor has run out.

I made sure I got a lot of advice from people experienced in this area before I started buying up the stuff needed.

The best bit of advice I was given, and this was through more than one source, is don't waste money on expensive compressors. I bought a 2.5hp compressor with fittings from Supercheap for under $200. I can spray half the datto with it before the air runs out, so best to go panel by panel and give yourself about 20sec (not even) in between.

It is fine to go tightass on the compressor, but make sure you buy good quality guns and nozzles. A cheap compressor will always pump air, but cheap guns may not always give the spray you require.

Do you have any trouble with water in the air Whorida. My $75 supercheap compressor ends up having a lot of water in the compressed air - which is OK for oiled air tools - but would be trouble for painting.

fit a water trap to the lines if your compressor doesnt have one. Its amazing how much water you can get from compressing air. The water trap in the lines at my work has to be emptied almost every second time you go to use the thing as we use comp air a lot.

I got a good gun of ebay (de vilbiss) an started spraying a trailer here is a few things that i have leant so far.

Preperation is v. important! Get everything even

Good qualtiy paint and spray gun makes it easier and more expensive so start with crap stuff on a crap tailer or somthing if you can do a half decent job with that you should be even better with the good stuff.

Go to you tube like some one said before cos there is some handy advise from people with a stack of experince.
