well i thought a bit about what people said, and how i could do better than sunny brakes, but on closer inspection i found the sunny had power assisted front end disc brakes. i have picked up a couple 120y front end disc brakes that need a little work, so the power assistance unit from the sunny should work not a problem with the 120y? from what i understand they should be compatible.. any ideas or suggestions on this? btw, this is to go on my 1200 ute

The brake booster doesn't make your brakes work better. It only lets you press down with less effort. Which is not a bad thing, but the PA booster won't make your 1200 stop any faster.

The disc brakes from even a B110 are better than the drum brakes. Mostly in the area of fading -- the disc brake works well on long downhills, and even if they get wet they'll dry out quicker than drums. But they don't stop much faster (if any faster) than properly adjusted drums.

The disc brakes from A14/A15-powered B310 (Sunnys) are much better than the B110 brakes. So it is worth a swap if you get the parts inexpensively.

However, some guys like to go with even bigger, better brakes, and these guys like to say the Sunny brakes are "not good". Certainly the A12-powered Sunny brakes are about the same as the B110 brakes.

as ddgonzal said some guys ,me, like to say that sunny brakes are fair ####....mainly due to the effort involved in doing the swap compared to other swaps that will give you half decent brakes
and a brake booster is only really needed when the pedal effort is getting a bit much, usually when you have a bigger master cylinder to cater for larger calipers

stock 1200 coupe, 120y, sunny, 180b, 1600 and early stanza brakes are all pretty much the same and arent the greatest brakes to be stuffing around putting on your car

better of spending a bit more effort getting a few things modded to give you great brakes rather than going with the stock packages to give you ok brakes

Well said. For the amount of work, you might as well go with better brakes than the B310 ones. Aussie late Stanza, 280ZX, etc, are better.
