So I have my b210 and after the car club meeting last night I can't even start to keep up with the other cars. I knew the car was slow before I bought it and I planned for a different motor or at least hopping up the stock one. Do anyone have any input. I like the idea of an a15 because it would look factory and the car would still handle well, but I know with an SR20det I would have more then enough power. How bad does the SR kill handling? I run with celica GT-s's SERs and the like. What does everyone think I should do....

Tough call. A hopped up A series will keep up with the standard Celica's and SER's etc but good parts and expertise can be scarce in the US - esp. in the South. Installing a SR20DET is a fairly challenging, lengthy and expensive project but will certainly see you blow the doors off your cruising buddies.
I would stay with the A15 and do a basic rebuild initially. Just with headers, a cam and induction you will gain a sense of how well these motors punch above their weight and all your buddies will be impressed as things will still look standard and uninmposing under the hood.
