was wondering if anyone out there has put a disco potato on their ca18. i have a t28 on mine at the moment and have been told to put a disco potato on their for better response and more horse power is this true would it even make much of a difference

It will make a little difference.

But not as large as you might hope. A good condition T28 will server you well up to 180kW@rw.

I'd wait till you need a new turbo. Unless you are bored and have plenty of free time on weekends.
