I need to get a fuel regulator for my A15/webers - just wondering if anyone one else has used any of these?

HOLLEY STYLE REGULATOR

BILET FUEL REGULATOR

Or what do other people use?

I've used the holley style one before with twin su's on an a15, just be sure to get a gauge with it so you can set your pressure as they are adjustable. The holley pressure gauge just screws into one of the blocked off ports

Anything under $50 is what you want. something to handle 0psi-5psi fuel pressure. When the time comes to going EFI, you'll need a different one.

WHY? You don't need a fuel regulator with side drafts if using a standard fuel pump or a low pressure (garden variety)electric pump,as in non efi pump,or is it for show?

I currently have 3 A series and lots more in the past using side draft carbies and not a regulator in site.
You only need one if fuel pressure is too great as supplied by the pump,if this is the case,go and get a small electric for small change or put the old one back on the block

Yeah i never used a regulator with these webers last time. I just had a bluebird fuel pump near the tank, up to filter then to the webers.. Have got standard fuel pump blocked off.

Jeff at JTS recomend i fit a regulator this time.

yep Jeff at JTS sets them to 1 to 1.5 psi. That pretty much the max you want webers to run at.....i bought a simple inline one from him for $50 new and i never had a surge or overfuelling prob with the twin 40's.

I really just wanna make sure everything is running as efficient as possible because i never had the engine running right before this rebuild - compression was too high for street fuel and the webers were never quite right either. End result was 2 cracked pistons and a very close call to a meltdown. And if the piston did fail - theres a good chance the head would have been history! Luckly found the problem before major failure and took the engine back to Jeff. Jeff is doing his magic with the engine right now - should be back in the next few days! Lower compression with Mazda pistons and a general clean up of the head.

With the amount of cash i've poured into this rebuild, an extra $50 for a regulator is nothing. Will give me piece of mind at least.
