Hi guys

I need to find out something.I have noticed that almost everyone on this site uses Dellortos on their A-series dattos.
Why do you prefer these carbs? Here in South Africa the guys say that Dellortos are scrap and that I must go Webers.

I currently have a pair of Dellortos, but they have a bit of wear on the actuator pump arm. While looking for parts some say Dellortos are good and others say I must throw them away and get Webers.Currently working on getting another pair of Dellortos.

Ignorant people will tell you to throw them away, find another pair of pump assemblies. The emissions type 40mm's are hard to get smooth just off throttle as they have quite a lean progresion phase, this can be overcome with slight richer idle jets.

They have finer jetting than a weber but the downside is parts are getting hard to get, you would still have that contact I gave you last year though?

How do I know if they are this type of ones?
I have the ones that have the small towers into which the idle screw is located. The serial numbers on the carbs are not identical but very close to each other.Difference by about a 100 or so.

I think yours are, last time we spoke I think by memory you said they were DHLA-G's? Or DHLA-H's they are emissions type.

Yea, they are the "H" ones.
Is this a problem? This is for a A12GX that will get some work done to the cylinder head.

No not a problem, did you ever email the guy in italy to get jetting for your car? Did he have new pump assemblies?

No, got a guy here locally that have parts.I just lost the damn number now. Will see if I can find the number again.Just as long as the carbs will work.Don't want it to overfuel at certain points and at other points to run lean as I know that leaning can cause burnt valves and overfuel can cause bore flushing.Have never tuned these kind of carbs.Just know SU's.

Get in touch with him and see what he has to say.

I know a lot of people on here use alfa dellorto's on their a-series.

My jetting for my 40mm's will not be right as they are on a L16, someone else should have some input.

Nissan-Datsun chose Twin 40mm Dellorto carburetors for the famous Datsun 1200 SSS model.

Most people are afraid of what they don't know, which might explain why the people in your area say to get Webers.

I suspect the same thing.
