so at the moment i'm running a ca18t with the standard s13 gearbox and the standard 1200 ute diff and at 100kph it revs at 3grand and i would like it to be around 1800 to 2000 revs at 100kph does anyone know what diff gears i should run in the r31

cheers matty

To get those sort of rpm at 100, you will need around 3.00:1 which will make it a pain to drive when taking off.

Me thinks you should forget about those sort of rpm, thats for bigger motors with more torque. It will take forever to get it onto boost and will only be good for high speed, which as you may know is a little floaty in a little car like a 1200.
Try going for something around 3.45:1 from a vl commodore as a compromise without losing drivability

I run a 25 spline 3.45 in my CA18/1200, and it's a bit boggy down low, but was good for the drive from sydney to melbourne.

I'm moving back to 3.7:1 which I reckon for a 1200 street car is a great compromise. I think even 3.9 is getting a bit high with larger diameter wheels/tyres, but for drag racers, they may prefer a 3.9 or 4.1.
