Hi folks, Dave here, long time listener first time caller. Just bought a '73 B110 A12 4sp Sedan - I'm the third owner of the car and am planning to keep it "granny spec" as a daily driver.

I'll post some more pics once I've given her more of a spit shine. This is the second 1200 in the family, the last one being a white A12 automatic sedan SA rego "RGW-788" which we owned in the late 80's/early 90's (if anyone knows if this car is still kicking around I'd love to know!). Anyway saw this one for sale on eBay and couldn't resist - she drives very well and is very original - still has all the original books and purchasing receipts so I'm stoked.

Anyway I'll catch up with all you local 1200 nutters at the cruise in April. In the meantime, does anyone know if there is a place in Adelaide selling new front guards? I've seen them on eBay for about $70 each but they're all local pickup and interstate?

Talk soon!

Hi Dave, welcome and nice sedan, I was looking at this on ebay a while back, very very nice.

Go see the boys and grand auto wreckers at lonsdale, they will be able to help, I think they were $120 when I last looked. Nissan can still get them but there is a wait and at $275 each they are too expensive for some people.

Goodluck with it and hope to see you on the cruise.

Cheers Sean

Cheers Guys, that has to be the speediest response ever!

As for the moonies, not sure what to do with them at the moment, don't want to keep them on there everyday in case they get kerbed while I'm still getting used to parking or ripped off while I leave the car parked - the rims are freshly painted in satin black and look pretty good on their own along with the whitewalls so I might keep the moonies in the garage and bring them out on special occasions. I'll ask the bloke who I bought it off where he got them from.

I saw that beauty on eBay, was listed a few times before you picked it up. Would love to have bought it myself but don't have the room (or need) for another Datto.

Do you have any plans for her? I thought she looked just perfect as she is.

Hey Dave,

I also reside in the Adelaide Hill at Scott Creek, Where are you?

I can normally help out with most parts for the 1200's, so yell out if you need any, or advice.

Cheers Scott

welcome to the club! The Adelaide side of things is having a cruise in the 6th April, hope to see you and your car there.
The car that you mention in your first post I may have seen at Claridge Holden a couple of years ago, I think one of the techs. must have owned it but I haven't seen it there for a while.

Hope this helps. Adam.

Thanks heaps for the info! - If I have a chance I'll ring around Claridge and see if I can put my detective skills to work (honed after years of watching repeats of 'the Bill').

As for plans, it's early days, but I'm not planning to do any major modifications - I'm leaving the 13" wheels on there as I reckon they look better and give the car a more aggressive stance than the stock 12" rims. But initial plans are:
- Rear window venitian
- Interior needs a damn good scrub and new carpet, maybe some reclining seats retrimmed to match
- Some sort of stereo so that I can get down with James Brown - although I can't bring myself to pull out the original AM pushbutton radio, so the new deck will have to be hidden away somewhere else.
- Centre console, dash clock, soundproofing and any other original interior niknaks I can scrounge.
- General repainting and tidy up in the engine bay
- New front guards and a respray in the same colour, vinyl roof will stay as is.

I've just had the brakes fixed and next week she's going in for a tune - seems to be running rough on choke and at startup, but is magic when warmed up, so probably just some adjustment in the carby and timing.

Scott: I'm in Coro Valley - work is a bit mental at the moment so if I don't catchya in the meantime I'll hopefully see you at the cruise or soon after.
