was there ever a bolt on style bell housing for CA's? i want to use a w50 iron case toyota but all the ca boxes ive seen are integral with the case did bluebirds or pintaras come with borg warners? is the ca bolt pattern common to any other nissans? dazza
ps: toyota box is 610mm bell to shifter ,should fit through std shifter hole, tougher than a stumpy and cheaper

You would be better off with a stumpy skyline 5 speed over the W50. They are only rated for 110HP (i have been there and wrecked a few) and the stumpy skyline R30 is a ripper. The CA bell housing will interchange with the L series.

I've never seen a steelcase v8 kit, they have all been alloy case w55-58. From the pic it looks like the w50 is only marginally bigger than the T50... goes T50, W50, W58, R154 (left to right).

I am very familur wit the steel case 5 speed. I did many conversions in the 90's. I have had the W50 apart side by sise with the R30 stumpy box and they are evenly matched as far as gear size go but the stumpy box seems to have a much better torrington bearing system on the mainshaft under the gears. Just my opinion though.
