Hi all,

I have just finished fitting a later model 120y a12 into my 1970 1200 sedan. The car is a factory auto, I have put the original motors starter motor on the motor as I didnt have the 120y starter. I have gone to start the car and the starter doest seem to reach the flex plate and just free spins.

As I didnt take much notice i need to ask are 120y manual cranks the same as 1200 auto cranks, ie. could is be that my flex plate is sitting further back due to a different mounting position on the later motors?? Or is the throw on the 120y starter longer and thus I need a 120y starter to fix this.

Any help is really appreciated thanks.

B110 starters fit B210 and vice-versa.

But, Auto and Manual starters are different. See Starter
