Picked up a dizzy and ignition module the other day. Just wondering whether anyone has any experience with this setup? Not sure what coil to use either? Also what is the adjsutment on the optical sensor for?

Allison electronic ignition was offered in USA by Crane Cams. Is it the XR700 series? It takes a 1.2-1.9 ohm ballast resistor, so the stock Datsun 1200 resistor and coil should work fine.

The adjustment is for proper sensor gap.

This is a points-replacment system, not a high energy system.

There are diagrams at the Crane Cams site.
