Will a booster improve the braking ability of a front disc rear drum vehicle? Will the fitting of a 1400 ldv booster help?

Hmmmm, I wonder why the parent manufacturer did it.

Power boosters won't give you better brakes, but they will reduce the pedal pressure required for a given measure of brake performance.

This vehicle was purchased brand new in August 1972 in Durban South Africa and has been in the family ever since. I would like to improve the brake performance as my daughter wants to take over the vehicle but she is not strong enough to apply the necessary foot pressure to get the car to stop. What suggestions do yopu have to improve the braking?

Yes, fitting the booster will make it easier to apply the brakes.

It won't make the car stop any shorter. For that you'll need bigger tires or larger brakes.

If you have a few skills, and access to some tools you can adapt S13 silvia brakes to 1200 struts with out too much difficulty.
