CA18DET auto and manual

Hey fella's......

Is there or would there be any problem in removing an auto and replacing with a 5 speed manual on the back of ca18det,

is there alot to change??

The ECU's are different... I wouldnt doubt you would find one over ebay, just swap them over and bob's your sister!

I thought you could use the auto computer on a manual though....the auto computer has extra stuff for auto in it that just isn't used in the case of a manual gearbox?

I'm guessing here mind you.....

Auto CA18 ecus can be a bit sluggish compared to manual factory ECU. I think it's to do with the signals from the auto gearbox computer missing.

They'll work ok..But don't expect more than 100kW at the wheels.

I'd recommend looking for a manual ECU (difficult to identify with numbers)

So in what your saying is im better off in getting a complete unit with computer (ca18det) manual,
100kw no bloody good to me .....hehe
im trying to track down a CA18det manual h/cut at a good price......

I could be wrong but i think he means get a remap of the standard ECU... In my opinion one of the best options out there.
