hi people i just managed to find this site and signed in.. didn't know this existed .. i'm mark.. i've got a datsun 120y B210 (ran in the family from my grandad) and would seriosly like to start polishing it up.. it's still in good condition body and i use it all the time.. but i need a new engine block cos the current onr has some hairline cracks and i have been searching for ages to try to find one.. wonder if someone could help me navigate this site 10x :)

well thanks for your welcome...

i'm from Malta (hope you know where it is... very small island right under Italy and Sicily).. that's one of the problems cos we're relatively limited in such resources and i'm not really a mechanic just a beginner.. but i really wish to keep this car as its really cool .. well if maybe some of you can tell me some engine parts shop or something cos i was thinking on starting to arrange the car bit by bit.. staring with the engine cos the rest is quite good..

Hi Mcar, welcome to the club.

Is there a Datsun-Nissan car club in Malta? If you join then you can find more information by talking to Datsun people. They may know of parts in Malta. Or speak to older mechanics, they may have some ideas as to where to find parts.

hullo Mark, welcome to the club. We have a member in Malta who is putting an SR20 into his B310, which uses the same engine as you 120Y. His name escapes me at the moment, but hopefully he has the old engine around & will be willing to sell you it. Just go through some of the Posts on Sunny's & then you can send him a PM (personal mail),or he might see this post & contact you himself. Godd Luck & dont be afraid to ask questions. There's always somebody willing to help (show off) .

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.
