Ill start a thread on how to do this, based on facts for those that are interested.
I no I could just swap heads but I want to stay in the 1600cc class.
As its a slow porgression Ill need to update everyso often.
I got an S14 SR20de complete engine.
Also a complete SR16ve.

The crank rods and pistons fit directly into the SR20 block
I had to grind the crank as one of the journels wasnt too flash & fitted acl bearings.
Fitted ARP rod bolts & basically just cleaned everything else up.
Cold tank block / new frost plugs etc: & power honed the bores.
Had to fit a plug in the rear oil return and a restrictor to the from oil supply.
Heres the block

The car is currently running A15 /78mm bore
With a S15 6 spped gearbox I have adapted to the A seriers engine.
I can retain the 6 speed by fitting a oem bellhousing which will bolt up to the Sr20 block.

This photo shows how the ve headgasket doesnt cover the rear oil return.
You can see the plugged part in the assembled block pcx

hang on a minute... im a genius..

knowing that sr blocks will take any sr components ( i think ) are you telling me that if i had a sr16ve i could put in sr20det rods crank pistons etc?

also how close is the distributor sticking out the back of the head to the firewall?
