Early GX inductions have three hoses, one from the PCV valve on the inlet manifold to the fitting on the rocker cover. Second hose goes from the fastory airbox to the crank case vent pipe and the third hose goes from the front of the inlet manifold to the water outlet [junction where the heater hose and bottom rad hose meet].
Clean air flows through the engine in the opposite direction to the regular engine config. clean filtered air enters via the block and exits via the rocker cover. The hoses are unique GX parts and are thin on the ground these days.

so all gx airboxes only have one outlet
and the differences for emissions are
extra hoses on the carbs-is that right?

It seems no one knows for sure. Most of us have only seen one kind. Going by the photos, I think that is true, all the airboxes are the same more or less.

On the later GX air boxes. the fuel bowl overflow pipes also vent into the airbox.

I personally only own the early A12GX type. I think Dodgeman may have all three examples, if not, he should have pictures of all three atleast.
