Hi guys, just wanted to post this up to get some interest to see if anyone else is keen or not.
I have a mate who is doing some work on my racecar ask if i wanted a carbon fibre dash and door trims made. Obviously my answer was yes.
Without knowing prices yet, would any of you guys be interested in a Carbon Fibre dash and door trims as well as the rear side panel covers? If so, i might be able to arrange to get a few sets made up.
He is doing an exact replica of an old dash i had with a flat panel for Motec dash. The middle is also going to continue down the middle to the floor as a straight panel for installation of a switch panel and fuses etc.
The door trims again are an exact replica of a set of door trims and rear side covers that i had.
He pretty much said that some volume would help him cost wise and if i can get a group of guys interested he can how cheap he might be able to do them for me.
Let me know your thoughts poeple ???
I am also getting a mounting platform for my fuel system made out of carbon fibre, as well as a carbon fibre panel that will act as a division for the fuel cell and equipment from the main cabin.
He is also talking about doing guards and bonnet, as well as doors and boot lids but setting up the moulds is an expensive process so we are looking at the basics at the moment.
My car is getting painted black so i recon it will look pretty good but the main reason for it is all, is weight.

would be interested to know how much a carbon bonnet is worth though if it went threw I would be after one in the 'gx' style (as its known), so one to take the mold from could be hard to find. Would also be interested to know how much a ute hard cover would be worth... mainly my questions are out of curiosity at present though I will be looking to go down this path eventually.

If you can get some ball park prices out of him - I might be up for a few bits and pieces.
Some should weight standard panels and fiberglass and CF to see the weight differences.
I remeber weighing a standard bonnet a while ago - asking for a fiberglass weight (never got it)..
I think the std bonnet was about 16kg? something like that.

Peddler, I think you would get people more interested if you can come back with a price. Not an exact price but an estimated price. Also if the finished product is going to be of a good visual qualitiy. By that I mean that, if I was to buy a dash for example, the finished product is going to be good enough to leave raw, and not painted or covered?
I personally would love the dash, but again, would like to know an expected price.
Cheers Nick

I'd be interested in the door cards as long as the price isn't too outrageous.
might also be interested in the carbon fibre panel that will act as a division for the fuel cell and equipment from the main cabin. Are you planning on seperating the boot area from the cabin?
