Back in 2000, a workmate and I were sucking a few beers, and we came up with a crazy idea for a new board. We fell out of touch untill about 18 months ago. Turns out he knuckled down and developed the idea into a sale-able item, and the 1st shipment will be arriving in a few weeks.
It kinda mimics a cross between snow and skateboarding.

It has an adjustable brake to control how freely it rotates, and also can tip side to side to mimic leaning onto your rail on a snowboard.
I don't have a financial interest in it. I never had the balls to refinance my house to invest, but I really want to see it succeed.

Only round and round, and it sways as the spring bends. It doesn't look much in a still picture, but it's pretty addictive in the flesh. It spits you off, and you just have to get back on. Gives you a wicked workout too.
Down the track there are other plans afoot, but that wont be revealed for a little while yet.

They are making it! lol. He traveled to Taiwan, and found a manufacturer to build them. The factory owner was so impressed, he bought shares in the company. My mate has also taken out a world wide patent on it. It takes much more than just an idea to put out a product. He's invested untold thousands in getting this far. And he's not a rich man by any stretch. (Not yet anyway!)
