best way to remove leaf springs/replace bushes

I've had a look at my bushes and they're completely shot on my 1200. I get a fair bit of movement from side to side.
What's the best way of replacing all of them including the ones on the front and rear top brackets?
Those bolts look pressed on so i presume I can only remove the nuts, then slide the whole spring off??
Any thoughts appreciated - i searched but found nothing on this.

yeah it's reasnobly straight forward

the two bolts are pressed into the plate with a spline, but remove the nuts and lever the plate out taking the bolts with it (comes out in a u-shape essentially)

you should be able to leave the leafs bolted to the diff and brakes all attached

jack the car up and put the stands under the body ..not the axle. Make sure the rear wheels are about 2 inches off the ground.

Place a trolley jack under the diff centre to it's just touching the diff.

Undo the nuts on the rear spring shackle. pull the spring off the shackle, using some WD40 to make things move around better.

Once the spring eye is freed from the rear shackles, lower the diff using the trolley jack, just enough so you can remove the bushings.

you can do the rear shackle on both sides at the same time, as the front mounts will keep everything in place.

With the new bushings greased and in place, reassemble the rear shackles, and do the same thing for the front shackles on the leaf springs..

With the springs/diff housing hanging, nothing is under any great load.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris and rallycar,
Good to know I can actually do it without taking it to a suspension place. Save myself 300 or so bucks. Makes sense to do the shackles on the rear at the same time as it would provide a bit more movement to get the spring eyes off.

While you are doing your bushes it may pay to replace the wear pads between the leaves. Just thought from an old Spring Maker.

That's a good idea dattofrog, i already have some wear between the leaves. Are they specialized things or could i use something from the cupboard?
