I spite of the rain our local Catholic school held its first show and shine at our fete. It went off! We got such positive feed back that the reps of the local car and motor sport clubs promised to have a full member turn out for next year, this could mean 200 plus entrants. We only had 11cars and 2 bikes this year and they ranged from 1925 Buick through to the car that won best at show 1969 Mustang H/Top. I entered my coupe of course and got a 5th place award. WE NEED MORE DATSUNS FOR NEXT YEAR! We hope to have this event gazetted as a sanctioned run so as to attract more entrants from all over. So next year leave the first weekend after the school hols open. I want to see you all here Oh did I mention the $300 worth of prizes for first place. Not bad for a hillbilly Qld School fete. We also plan to tie it in with the district Mud Racing which is held in the morning. The vision is to have a western Queensland motoring weekend.
