Hey guys,

Any one tried to make LED panels to fit behind the original taillights?

How would it affect the indicator relay or any of the other electrics for that matter?

Anyone got pics of ones they've done?

Thanks,
Ethan

If you go to Dick(head) Smith you can get bulbs that are converted to LED already. And they do not interfere with the electrics of older vehicles. Later cars with globe out sensors will be affected.

I've been thinking about trying to build late-model audi style lights (ring of small lights) with multiple LED lights inside the break light housings and indicator housings... not sure whats involved though. I think it would look good as a static light with the brake light in the middle (if that makes sense).

I was thinking along a similar vein as you quinn...

I didnt just want to light up the thing, I wanted it to be noticed as different. I know a half-watt resistor or somthing simillar would have to be put in to protect the LED's from blowing, but whether or not this will simulate the resistance provided by the bulbs, Im not sure.

If or when i do it, I'll put some pics up and maybe something in the wiki...
