it spins at 65,000rpm!

for those who need a laugh every now and then.

If the blades spin, I assume as a result of the air bieng drawn past it, then surley this would restrict airflow.
If the unit is in fact 'near 0 friction technology' then what effect does this have on the air flow?

The fixed versions of these have more merit.

I would agree with using a fixed version for promoting turbulance. I was going to make something simular for my LPG setup to get the LPG to blend better with the air. Perhaps once it starts spinning under it's own duress it starts to increase volumetric efficiency. Perhaps it's an oversized keyring.

I have difficulty understanding why you would want to have the air flow restricted by turbalance on the intake.

I would have thought that you would want max airflow rate and that better atomisation of the fuel from the injector.carb would be better. Still it has clearly been proven that a turblant intake is better, but it still doesent really make sense to me.

just one of those things i guess.

a fair few modern cars already have factory cast inlet manifolds that attempt to replicate the swirl effect to better attomise the fuel.

didnt nissan try it on the a14/15 head with that lillte cut out on the ilet ports?

swirl
notice new engines dont use those flapper valves in th intake anymore (like ca18, 4age,1ggte etc)
when you see one of these factory fitted i'll start to listen
swirling air balls up in the port and restricts flow
can help with atomisation but efi injectors are so close to the valve its too late
buy some new plugs and gap and index them you'll probably get more benefit
like most things the worse your engine is to start with the more this crap helps
keep your money
dazza

like the Enforcer says... Rubbish!!

at WOT especially on a larger capacity or performance engine that thing will seriuosly restrict flow.
also i heard today/tonite or ACA tested the hi-clone (same thing) for economy and found it did nothing.
