hey guys i am in a slight predicament at the moment.
i noticed the cap and rotor were looking a bit worse for wear on my beige bomb so decided to change them, i have put brand new ones on and now she wont start!
i put the old ones back on just in case their were faulty parts or something, nope she still wont go.
i have checked that there is spark and fuel, i thought i may ave somehow hit the points and moved them, but they are gapped up sweet and on time as well.
im soooooo confused any ideas?

Check that you're not out 180 degrees with your rotor, double check the firing order, 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 in an anti clock wise direction

yup firing order is fine, and rotor only fits on one way.

resistor wouldn't do this would it?

Have you moved the distributor at all?
Is it almost starting with a backfire?
If you have fuel and spark at the plugs and if the firing order is correct the only other reasons it wont start is timing or compression. Since you have been playing with the dizzy im guessing its timing but you shouldnt mess it up replacing a cap and button. Im thinking along the same lines as BRUTE, is most likely something very simple. Tripple check firing order and make sure you know which is No1 on the cap. Make sure cap is fitted correctly and look really hard for a wire you may knocked of the coil or the side of the dizzy.
God luck

I've had this happen several times... it was always the plug wires being off. Even with the right order, if they are off it's easy to put them on wrong.
