I was after people's opinions who have fitted a CA (with CA 5 Speed) to a 'Manual tunnel' 1200 Ute or sedan???
I have a ute and I'm aware the shifter will be back a little bit and I don't mind having to pull the engine to change the clutch. It's all going to be brand new and heavy duty.
How much room is around the bell housing and box ( if any ) once it's all sitting on Maddat mounts?
I have a bigger tunel here ready to go, but really don't want to cut up such a straight, rust free ute.

Did not use MadDat mounts as made my own. But their is room around the bell housing. It is very tight around the gear box mount. Only 10mm in places and the tunnel will need to be massaged with a dolly and hammer so it clears in places.

I had an r30 bos in a manual tunnel ,the motor was mounted to a maddat crossmember spaced down 10mm and still there is no clearance it held the gearbox and motor ona backwards slope, this was in a sedan

Go an auto tunnel or a new tunnel

Hey old_school,
Does your setup sit similarly to the maddat setup do you know?
Eg: Engine hight, closer / further from firewall etc.

you will still need to cut a little at the rear end of the tunnel (gear stick end) and then you will need a dolly and hammer a bit of the engine end

Thanks Jake...
That sounds do-able can't bring myself to taking the grinder to such a straight ute!
Is that what you did with your ute?
I have been following the build pic's - I'm impressed... Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for your advice.
