If you need to ask those questions your best off going to maddat and spending the money and buying all the parts concerned, it will save you a whole lot of time and headaches

i might be wrong but i think maddats kits
don't have to recess the fire wall now, i know u use to. and u will need to enlarge the trans tunnel for the sr20 gearbox, which u can also get from maddat and weld in yourself if u know hoe to weld. they sell pretty munch everything u need as far as fabrication goes anyway.

sss ute apparently is owned by the owner of maddat and from the pic it doesn't look like he recessed the fire wall....

yer fire wall stay's , check out sssute's build thread with all the parts ready to go did it in 9 days

your in perth, if ya want to drop over one day and check out my ute thats in the process of getting a sr20det put in it . it might give you a better idea of wats need'd but hears a quick run down , mines been off the road for 2+ years in that time its had a ca18de then ca18det then a second ca18det now a sr20det is about to go in ,
i have the maddat diff, brake booster ,crossmembers , mazda rx7 brakes with coilovers , fmic , 3inch zorst , fuel cell n surge tank , so pretty much every bit has to been swap'd for bigger stronger parts , some things people say you can get away with like the stock diff n only upgrage to stanza brakes , but i found the diff need's to be lsd or you'll paint black line's with out knowing it , and the stanza brakes where scary imo

cheers

datokid, as all the guys above said its a time consuming and expensive conversion, but that said they go like a shower of ####!

The fire wall does not need to be recessed, but a larger tunnel is needed.

The SR is a more envolved conversion over a CA, as the size of the engine is a far bit larger and makes all the tollerences much tighter. Radiator and cooler can be fitted behind the grill (just) and we have a custom rad. to suit.

I dont want to scare you off, but i hate seeing unfinished projects for sale, but you would want to allow minimum of $10,000 for the conversion if you do most of the instilation yourself.
Remember you must upgrade you brakes/suspention and diff with any high power conversion.

We can supply everything needed for the job, or what ever you need.

Cheers Scott

Or buy one already done. Yes it takes the joy and heartache out of the job which go hand in hand really. You would get one for around 10k i reckon.
