So I got my H165 for the SuperBee Beast and this conversion is a lot of work!

I had to cut the leaf spring mounts off of it and weld on the ones that I cut off of the H150. Mounts needed to be modified due to the fact that the H165 is 1 inch and a quarter shorter than the H150. Which means wheel bolt on spacers are going to be required.
New axle bearings but the rear brake mounting plates from the H150 should work on the H165. I'll have to bend new brake lines and redue the emergency brake cable as well.
Drive Shaft is going to need to be shorten 1 inch as well.
Got to work on welding my Lincoln Locker.
So far the empty H165 housing is set in place and is ready to bolt on.

So, I am hoping that this will last. Any wagers?

This thing came out of a 411. We don't have the Utes here in the states. Next best thing is the 411.

Who's got a B120 factory body manual? It should list the tailshaft dimensions, post 'em here if you have five minutes.

That reminds me you haven't seen my ute yet... it has H165 and probably has the driveshaft you need.

Are you saying the 411 rear axle assembley is narrower than a Datsun 1200 unit? Sounds like chance to fit wider wheels and tires.

Oh ya, some of us don't have utes here in the states.

Yes, the tailshaft is shorter.
The Wiki 1200 Axle swap page shows the 411 H165 at 1160mm (45 1/2 inches) which is what I measured. The H150 is 1187 (46 3/4 inches). I'm not sure if I want to go with wider tires. I would have to move my leaf springs inward. Think I'll work with what I have.
Could you measure your ute's tailshaft and driveshaft? When I get this thing done, I'll drive down and take a look at your ute.

For the H145/H150, yes it is said you can swap these centers into each other's axle housings.

But he needs a bigger diff cause his A15 is supercharged. Hence the H165 just obtained.

You'll be doing well if you can break it. They are pretty strong.

The other issue you may find is that the 411 H165 has the same size axles as the H145, the H165 from a 1200 ute has thicker axles.

The 411 H165 is the same width as a 1000 diff with I believe the same distance between the leafs, but also has the same size axles.
