Looking ahead to a restoration and trying to plan everything out.
I'm looking for people who have replaced front or rear window glass that accepts the stainless trim as found in the USA deluxe version. I'd like to know any procedures or tricks.
Thank you in advance.

when i did my 510, i used a small blunt flat bladed screwdriver with wd40 and worked it around very slowly make sure the rubber seal is warm too, this helps with flexibility in the rubber.

a thin peice of rope in the channel of the rubber, leave it in the sun for a bit to soften her up, then sit the screen in place and slowly pull out the rope from the inside while someone keeps pressure on the outside where you are pulling. works on vk/vl, chevy luv, mazda b2000. havent tried mine yet, let me know how you go, i have one ahead of me too.

Thank you for the tips.

Has anyone successfully removed & re-installed a front or rear window rubber with the stainless trim? How does the trim come out without bending it?
I've only been able to remove the windscreen trim cleanly by sacrificing & cutting the rubber.

Looking at the rubber & the trim. It looks like I need to assemble the glass, rubber & trim, then install that as a unit? As opposed to installing the trim after the glass is set in the car?

Isn't WD-40 a solvent and is it safe to use on rubber? Is there a better lube, perhaps silicone or graphite?

The screen isn't hard to get in, but the trim is a mission to get back into the rubber. Hence My trim is taped in a bundle in the shed.
