Well the give away would be the cloud of diesel dust blowing out the exhaust pipe. Even the best tuned diesels blow a little smoke.

Even then why would you. its not like the a15 is heavy on the juice. And it would weigh a ton compared to the A series.

My guess is that its a nickname....

Datsun 1200 with A12: 38mpg
Isuzu iMark sedan: 45 mpg

Seems like the diesel is significantly more fuel-saving.

Fair enough DD. You cant argue with numbers.
Dont know about the US, but we have a 30c per litre premium for diesel, so any milage savings are eaten up pretty quickly.
Still cant work that one out. Its cleaner than unleaded, better quality, and you get more MPG as you have stated DD.

Still the Aussie Gov works in mysterious ways.

And the price always used to be roughly the same as well, even only a few years ago

Same here, diesel is about 20% more expensive this weekend. The converted a lot of the diesel refineries here to petrol refining. Apparently it takes different equipment. So now there is a relative shortage of disel.

The reason I'll never buy one is how noisy they are -- even the new "quiet" ones.

Fair enough on the noise call. Each to thier own.

Im a fan of torque rather than HP, but both is better, so I am a diesel lover.

Diesels have been described as sounding like two skeletons haveing a shag in a biscut tin, or like a monkey jumping up and down with a handfull of spanners.

Still, back to the thread a little. if it is diesel, i wonder what motor he has used. Most of the nisssan diesels (4 cyclinders) were realtivility big and heavy (Z22, Z24), and were pigs, but then they were pushing biggish utes and 4wds. (620/720)

The Isuzu diesel you mention came here in the Gemni i believe. Perhaps thats the donor?
