i was lucky or unlucky enough to watch my rear wheel shoot past me today. went to go thru a round about heard a shudder then felt the ute get real low and crunch. all four wheel nuts fell off at the entry to the round about and landed within 5 cm of each other. had two passer byers lift the rear end and chucked the wheel back on, only had to bend the dust cover back abit and she was all good again. must have forgoten to retighten the wheel. i think im lucky for the fact that my wheel didnt hid anyone and that my ute suffered almost nil damage. stress will always make you forget things. what i was wierded out by was the rim had been on for about 2 weeks with no problems and then this

same thing happened to a mate of mine, just got some 16inch chromies(big back in the day) on his gemini, first cruise one came off and he watched it cruise through the window of the local charcoal chicken.

no spacers. luckily on minor damge to my good rims. only the inside of the rim was scratched

Far out mate had that happen at low speed, luckily.

Lucky your ute isnt really low or it would have take out the rear quarter and sill.

yeah its not low anymore after getting defected a few weeks ago.. come to think of it that was the reason for taking the wheels off in the first place
