OUCH! I payed a visit to our local spare parts fella the other day to inquire as to the price of a full set of instruments. I was kicking the idea of building a custom sports panel. I picked up his Smiths Instruments book and proceeded to tick off what I wanted. Speedo, Tacho, Fuel, Amp, Temp, Oil, Vac all in the standard black face and chrome surround with all the right senders ect. I added in 9 toggle switches with missile switch covers for lights, wipers, ignition ect and 12 pretty led lights and I went on my way and left them to cost it out.
It has been a while since I bought this sort of gear and I danm near died at the price. "$2500!" I said to the fella. "I only wanted to buy them, not have you make my dash and fit them!"
Is that price about right or am I gettin ripped off DAMN THEY IS EXPENSIVE!

depends on the gauges to the quality and the cost

autometer tacho are around 500-600 alone the speedo about the same then all the little guages are over 100 each

go have a look at the rocket web site rocket ind

or speco speco

they are opposite ends of the scale for price and quality

Rocket Industries have good deals sometimes. I got a set of Autometer Ultra-Lite gauges consisting of a 3-3/8" speedo & tacho, 2-1/16" water temp, vacuum, fuel level & oil pressure using a trade account for less than $650

Go to summit racing in the states. I made up my full dash with autometer gauges, speedo, tacho, boost, oil, water temp and fuel level and it cost about $800 from memory even though the dollar was a lot better then. But they have a massive range of old style gauges like smiths ones and in my opinion they are one of the best mail order places going around.
