yea but i dont really wanna soend to much $$$ trying to get it through. ive heard that i can register it with a 12A using std disk brakes ect.

the 12A is only 100cc smaller than the 13B but then u can port it and get almost 300hp without a turbo

12A's dont need to be engineerd. thats why im choosing it. they said i can put in a A14,A15,L16&12A. engineering in s.a isnt that simple or cheap. its dearer than most places in australia. if u can put a 12A in a mazda 1200 then they are going to allow it in a datto1200

as i said who eva told you that dnt no what there on bout..\

u can change an engine from that series.. eg: A12 A13 A14 A15..

you CAN NOT go any other engine without engineering, if it didnt come out with that engine model you can not do it without engineering it..

im with ben ... you CAN NOT change to anything other than what was released in this model of car or engines from the same series. you cannot put a 12a into a datsun without engineering

can i just ask who said you can do these mods?

well then i know thats not true. i have spoken to them myself also i have seen a few people put 13b's in there 1600's and all they require is a inspection. it is however up to them but not all cars have to be engineered if they have had a engine swap. i have even filled out paperwork myself with putting a completly different motor in my 1000 ute and the paperwork i got back said that it just had to go through regency without an engineers report. only for an inspection but as soon as i filled in the same paperwork saying it was turbo then they wrote back saying it needed one.
would it have anything to do if someone has already engineered a 12a in a stock datto1200? i thought thats why they list that u can put a L16 in it. i have seen the paperwork myself at regency
