Well i have a sr20det black top with t28 spec r s15 turbo 550 injectors yada yada yada.. but anyways for now i wanted to ditch the old a12 and drop in a a14 that i picked up for 60 bucks. i took it completely apart honed it and put new rings. bearings looked good. This motor was a ex race motor and hits 8k in matter of a second. I measured the lobs on the cam and they measured out to be .315 duration unknown. motor has arp rod bolts and a nismo racing head thats been ported like crazy. The block must have been decked because pistons stick out of deck 20 thous. i cc the head and the piston and figured out compression ratio to be 10.4:1 . I really want to get this motor up and running with some keinhin carbs from a motorcycle. This motor use to have twin su's and aluminum flywheel but the people who had motor tossed them at the dumps. IDIOTS. I have the stock a12 flywheel getting lightend right now.

here is a few pics of me mocking up the carbs. I will put pics of the engine build tomarrow when i upload them from my camera.

Hmm quad carbs are hot, however 40mm bike carbs on an a14 are fairly big

dude truthfully i dont know it came with the motor. also it looks to be stainless under the black heat paint. I know but the manifold and carbs and linkage worked out to be to much money i figured the carb setup would be cheaper to do in motorcycle ones.

If it has a genuine Nissan motorsport head thats ported to buggery and a wiled cam then they probly arent overkill, was reading a thing I think ,ight hav be'n on datrat's and they went to 48 weber's on an a15(1609cc) because 45's were to restricting.

Who would paint over stainless steel??????????oh well each to his own I guess. If you already have the bike carbs then I guess you should try them out.I think if all that work was done to your motor then you might just get away with it.If not sell the bike carbs or exchange them for the webies.Have you thought about injection like throttle body injection?????????

well i do know this.. a built up a14 like this one will not be fun daily driving IMO. from what i have read it they wont make any good power untill after 4 or 5k. with these bike carbs well see how it performs. Listen i would have run some solex 40s. Cheapest i could find a set were 150 to 350. Then the manifold from redline bprojects, other company from 280 to 500 US! then isolators, linkage, air horns, jetting it was going to be pricy. I have already considered using my flanges to build a efi plentum with ka24e managment or somthing. Still up in the air!

Im setting up a ca18 on 36mm keihins, they actually flow like 40-42, but im yet to fire it up and see how they handle the capacity, IMO i think you can run any carb on any motor accordingly with how much work has been put into it ( how much fuel it can guzzle :D)
