hey guys, i have a problem.. i have a turboed a12, and the engine originally came out of a 120y before the turbo build started, whats happening is a got a sump of an a12 1200 engine, and got the return line tapped in to the sump (on the passanger side) put it on, oil filter, oil, went to check the dip stick for fluid levels and now the dipstick wont go back in? WTF!!! the 120y a12 and the 1200 a12 are identical in the sump area, so duz anyone know whats happening???? cheers....

Since it is a 120Y engine, use the matching 120Y dipstick.

Does the dipstick location go down the outside of the block to a bulge in the pan (which the 1200 pan does not have)?

Yes. Does the dipstick location go down the outside of the block to a bulge in the pan (which the 1200 pan does not have)?

The newer engines, starting with 1974 models, moved the dipstick to a totally different location! You might be able to tell by looking if that is the problem.I don't know but what you'll have to fit a B310 pan.
