Does anyone know where I can get an auxilary waterpump like the one pictured?

You'll find parts like that on ebay, some of my favourite searches are, speedway, sprintcar, drag, race, racing, rally etc.

Or go rob one from a light aircraft.

That pump looks like a Davis Craig unit. Any good parts outlet would be able to hook you up with one. There are a few types of aux pumps available but be careful if you go aeronautical because a lot of aircraft stuff is 24V or 48V. I would pop down to Autopro or Coventry Auto.

There is no power going to that at all, its still belt driven. I think this would be a good idea for someone with water pump pulley/rad clearance issues.

I know of and have had david craig units but prefer the
mechanical setup on the image as its one less thing to
worry about once setup properly.
It is a clearance issue thing for me.

If you go all electric remote pump would you not grab a few % more HP by negating the belt drag.
Way back when in the olden days I removed everything mechanicly driven on my old XB GS Falcon clone and switched to electric units. By fitting electric thermo fan, fuel, water and oil pumps I got a noticable improvement in power. I had to of course fit a larger altenator to offset the power draw (35 Amp per hour wouldn't cut the mustard) but it all worked well. I got the most when I dry sumped the old girl. I robbed the pumps off my brothers wreaked ski boat. It was all Davis Craig gear. My brother spared no expence on his boat, 16ft Judd Craft, blowen 351 marine. It still sank as quick as a cheap one.

Still interested in a mechanical pump, less chance of something going wrong
and the noise would tell me in time to replace it.
