Hey guys i got a 1973 Datsun 1200 ute and i have a big problem. The car has massive rust holes in the floor pan. i was thinkning of cutting out the floor pan and welding in a couple of metal plates shaped as the floor pan. But i dont know if i would be able to get the car registered because its been welded. Unless i could find another floor pan from another 1200 and get that fitted on correctly.

can someone please help.
thanks

If you have massive rust holes in the floor, the chassis rails are probably gone throughout the car, how is rust around the compliance plates in the engine bay?

If repairs are done correctly you should not have any problem getting registration.

the engine bays in good condition. its the floor thats the big problem. im looking for a new floor pan but its kinda hard to find. if anything ill have to get one pressed.
and the other problem is finding someone to fit the floor on. Not much people want to do it.
so im kinda unsure on wat to do with the car.

you should still be able to get it registered just make sure that you tidy the welds up and looks pretty original and spray on some tar underneath your ute to cover up the new floor
