can anyone tell me do ineed to weld up the head where the water goes from head to manifold? or can you seal it some other way.

No need to weld it. The manifold matches so just bolt it up. If you have a 'dry' manifold, but the head is the 'wet' type, the most common solution is to drill and tap the head holes, and fit allen-wrench plugs.

yes want to use dry manifold, head is off a14 but the hole is about inch and 1/4 long by 1/4 inch bit to big to drill n tap?

I ream'd the holes and made some pess fit alloy pins and taped them in and peen'd the ends alittle, and when I machined the whole surface you couldent even see whare they where. and I hav a gx head that has be'n drill'd and taped if you do that just remember to put some tefflon tape or silican or something?
