I have an A15 bare block that has some scoring on the #1 & 2 cyls. , machine shop said they could be taken out if bored .060 over, its already .030 over hence my problem. I found another stock block that I'm going to reuse my .030 over pistons in so it seems that this block is a good candidate for a 79MM bottom end. I know you can get .040 over pistons but the machinist wouldn't guarantee that'd even work, he said the bore's were out by roughly .005.

Sounds like the machinist is too cautious? machine shop had no problem taking my A14 out to .060 infact they recomended it.

that was my thought as well but I still didn't want to buy new pistons to make it all work. It worked out well that I found a block I can use my 30 over pistons in, maybe someone on here wants to do a larger bore. Isn't the bore on a A14 75MM stock, is that why you could find .060 pistons?
