hey does any one have one of these r31 diffs and how do ya shorten it? how much did it cost?

normal r31 diffs are everywhere...a wreckers would be doing very poorly not to have an r31 in stock

you shorten it like you would shorten anything else that is metal...cut and weld

usually costs around a grand or more for a diff shop to cut a diff down to the right size, cut down and re spline the axles and weld mounts on if you supply the diff

had my r31 diff shorten & resplined axles at dubbo diff & driveline $650 year ago

yeah, gets cheaper if you cut all the original mounts off the diff and weld your own ones back on again

I just had one done... I nearly died when I had to pay for it, he supplied the diff and cut down the housing and axels. Made new mounts and made new ubolt plates and put a LSD in... I still had to fill it with oil and re-do the brakes, got a new drive shaft made and all up it was a little over 3K withe everything done. Ohh and I picked up the diff basically ready to put in, just had to add oil and brakes

where abouts you get that done and what about the axel what they do to them?

I got it done by a diff guy up here... And axels were shortened and re splined or whatever they do to them
