I may be gettin my hands on an old Holden astra (Pulsar) with an e15.
What would people recommend doin to the engine while it's out?
And most importantly what parts should I take off before scraping it. I would like to keep as many compatible parts as I can.

Is it a GM car with Nissan E15 engine? If so, put the entire E15 in your Datsun 1200. It bolts to the Datsun 1200 transmission with most of the bolts matching.
