Hi Guys,
Its rebuild time for the SSS and I am having sleepless nights overs pistons.
I want to open the block ( A14 ) out to 78mm ( have already had it sonic tested ) and was very keen on some Kameari cast pistons but, no longer available and at present the thinking is that I don't want to go forged as realistically this is only going to be a 8000 max. rpm engine and I would rather concentrate on reducing internal weight hence I believe that a good quality cast piston will do the job.
I have been told that I need to be careful with what I fit as a potentially heavier piston may end up in a broken conrod!!, although I have yet to see a Datsun rod break myself.
Can anybody recommend a good cast piston that is still available that will work in this application.

This would be a good time to move up to A15, it'll rev to 8500 with stock rods.
