carby hitting bonnet.

atm i have a standard carby on my a15 in my 1200 ute. with the air filter on it just clears the bonnet by about 2mm or so. can somebody let me know if i swap to a 32/36 downdraught weber will it hit the bonnet. thanks

Nah shouldent do? lots hav done it. and I think the weber with the addaptor is about the same hight as the original carb. and most aftermarket fillters for webers are shorter.

..shoulda put a CA18det in

otherwise .. any chance you can slot the engine mounts to make it sit lower on that side?

Do you have the right bonnet?

It sounds like the engine is mounted too high. A15 with stock air cleaner, or A15 with weber 32/36 fits under the stock bonnet.

i dont have a stock air filter on it though i have a small sports chome one atm which is about 5-6 cm tall.

The most likely answer is that when they swapped in the A15, they fitted it too high.

You can check: the bottom of the oil pan should be level with the bottom of the crossmember. If the oil pan is higher, that's your problem.
