280zx strut swap question

For those who have done this swap i was wondering just how much the track width is decreased, and how much the front is lowered? If I understand correctly, the lowering would be somewhat dependant on where you reweld the spring seat. Could it be done with only a half inch to an inch lower? I already have nice 14" wheels and 185/60's on it, but they rub just a bit. The narrower track should solve it, but I don't want to go much lower.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can have stock ride height or even higher than stock if you want. There is no problem. The struts can take off-the-shelf short inserts which is why people like them for lowering but there is no need to lower it at all.

Track width is increased about 1".

The tech article says the track is narrower, not sure why that would be. Most people fit B310 a-arms which increases the tracks.

What does Tuscon say?

b310 control arms giv camber as the axle is at the same angle as 1200 struts (unlike B's and all the other Z's) but you need b310 steering armn as the bolt spaceing at the bottom of the strut is larger than 1200, and I think the track is narowed (provided all other geometry dosent change) because the wheel wheel mounting surface is closer to the strut or backspaceing is less (however it worded??)

That makes sense. The hub may be thinner, mounting the wheel closer to the strut.

The 310 b ottom arms are the same length as the 110 ones. It's just that some of thr 310 ball joints are longer.
If you're doing this, you should really have a ring made up to spigot the ZX strut to the 310 steering arm.

The ZX strut does not need a shear load spacer for the bottom of the strut.

I think I undestand all the lower arm stuff from the wiki and it sound like as I figured the height could be about anything. I just wondered about the width, I could use a little narrower, like 1", but not more. Thanks to all.
