Ok! We need ideas on how we can get 5spds to breed so they can have pups and we can all have one. Are they still available ex Japan? Surely all those little Datsun/Nissan commercials would use them. I would like to know about any other models that would have carried them. Where do I start? Need Japanese part import contact! If it is possible to get them, I'll have a go at bringing them in. Got to be able to wheel and deal with someone over there.

I have an extra 5spd box (does not have a shifter) with the appropriate driveline, not sure of the identification #. I will get it out of storage and check the #'s, if there is some interest. I am in Washington state, USA. Don't know what shipping cost would be, but it seems they would be comparable to rates from Japan. Anybody...., I have a complete eng assembly A14-"78" that matches the above componets.

its not if a container can be filled. We will need also a15 or a14 engines soon as they are few and far between these days and they will get worse

a15s won't run out any time soon. Nissan still make them new for forklifts, stationary motors and they are still fitted to 2009 c22 vanettes in Malaysia. Note - the c22 has a floor shift 5 speed in it - maybe Malaysia could be a better import source for gear boxes? Most Australian imports and exports are trans-shipped through Malaysia, so shipping should be fairly inexpensive and it only takes 2 weeks for containers to ship between OZ and Malaysia. See here... http://www.nissan.com.my/vehicles/vanette/specifications.htmlIs the C22 truck the last A series based 'ute'? Interesting to note that the vented disks suspiciously look as though they'd suit a 1200?! (see pics)
